The 2025 Physician and APP Engagement Survey helped identify opportunities to strengthen communication, collaboration, well-being and operational support across HonorHealth. In response, each medical center, specialty area and care setting developed action plans tailored to the feedback received.

Campus action plans

HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center
HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center
  • Improve communication and alignment with leadership, including clearer communication channels and continued provider input into construction and program planning.
  • Create a provider contact document that identifies administrative contacts for operational questions.
  • Review the physician and APP parking plan.
  • Support appreciation and collegiality through initiatives such as You Rock recognition, personal notes and professional day celebrations.
HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center

  • Strengthen collaboration and communication with the Medical Staff, including increased in-person engagement as executive offices return to the hospital.
  • Support physician and APP wellness in partnership with physician champion Sadaf Jamil, MD.
  • Enhance recognition of physicians and APPs and highlight positive feedback from patients and team members.
  • Improve physician and APP workspaces, including a new OR lounge and wellness workspace planned for Q2 of 2026.

  • Improve physician and surgery lounges with refreshed furniture, TV upgrades and healthier food options.
  • Enhance collaboration with anesthesia teams through monthly leadership meetings.
  • Hold administrative town halls to provide direct opportunities for physicians and APPs to connect with leadership.

In addition to campus-specific initiatives, several systemwide action plans are underway across the Medical Group, APP community and specialty service lines.


Medical Group, APP and specialty action plans

HonorHealth Medical Group
  • Continue physician and APP recognition initiatives, including Women Physicians Day.
  • Expand RN support for message, refill and inbox management, with proposed expansion to cardiology.
  • Expand CME, PTO and professional development time.
  • Develop specialty-based APP leadership structures.
  • Increase transparency through leadership listening tours, and the development of a quarterly physician and APP productivity dashboard with RVU and compensation metrics.
Advanced practice providers
  • Strengthen leadership through the APP Leadership Academy and the APP LIFT Steering Committee.
  • Improve well-being and recognition through leadership training and recognition initiatives.
  • Expand professional growth through annual performance evaluations and alignment of compensation with experience and specialty practice.
  • Translate organizational priorities through APP-specific meetings.
  • Expand onboarding and mentorship manuals.
  • Ensure APPs can practice at the top of their license.
Urgent care
  • Use 2025 visit volume data to evaluate clinic capacity and future expansion opportunities.
  • Strengthen APP engagement and communication with urgent care APP leaders and the APP network director.
  • Implement the urgent care lead role to support frontline leadership and operations.
  • Support continued innovation and strong team member retention.
HonorHealth Cancer Care
  • Increase leadership presence in practices.
  • Expand communication with frontline teams.
  • Strengthen communication around safety issues and HRO principles.
  • Share successes and improvements resulting from team collaboration.
