No cash? No problem. Cashless starts April 1
Beginning Wednesday, April 1, HonorHealth will no longer accept cash at any location across the network.
While cash has long been part of daily operations, it remains one of the last fully manual processes in our system. Managing cash requires daily counting, balancing and deposit preparation, and it carries added expense through armored transport, bank fees and administrative oversight. Moving to a cashless model reduces operational complexity, lowers cost and supports a more streamlined experience across sites.
What’s changing
The following areas will operate as cashless:
- Admitting
- Retail locations, including Essential Touch Wellness Spa, Gift Shops and Tina’s Treasures
- Starbucks and Vitality bars
- Medical center cafeterias
- Medical Group locations
Essential Touch Wellness Spa has operated cashless since the pandemic.
What you need to know
- Please plan to use a credit or debit card or badge pay for personal purchases.
- Patients and visitors will also need to use non-cash payment methods in the areas listed above.
- Digital payment tools, including card terminals and online payment systems, are already in place systemwide, so disruption is expected to be minimal.
Additional updates and resources will be shared to support a smooth transition.
If you have questions about how this change may affect your department or patient workflows, please reach out to your site leadership.
