Women Physicians Day and upcoming spring event

Women Physicians Day is celebrated each year on Feb. 3. Why that day? Because it is the date of Elizabeth Blackwell’s birth; she was the first women in America to receive a medical degree. Dr. Blackwell championed the participation of women in medicine. We celebrated Dr. Blackwell’s pioneering efforts by inviting HonorHealth’s women physicians and their families to a festive day at the Phoenix Zoo.

Save the date: Join us for our Third Annual HonorHealth Women Physicians Leadership Council (WPLC) fundraising event on Friday, April 12! This will be a fundraising dinner featuring renowned keynote speaker Tait Shanafelt, MD. He is the current Chief Wellness Officer at Standford Medicine, and a well-respected and renowned medical oncologist. Dr. Shanafelt is also one of the most prolific writers of medical literature regarding wellness and burnout in medicine. To prepare yourself for a weekend of wellness, read his article “Physician Well-Being 2.0”  or listen to one of his many podcasts.
