Updates from the Women Physicians Leadership Council

As we welcome in a new year, the HonorHealth Women Physicians Leadership Council (WPLC) would like you to take some time to set your wellness intentions for the year. To help, we have some new, exciting and unique ways to enhance your own personal wellness and the wellness of our community.

To usher in the “new” in the new year, consider donating much needed personal items to A New Leaf’s Faith House, a women’s crisis shelter. This organization provides safe housing and support to women and children experiencing homelessness or domestic violence. New Leaf donation boxes are set up in the libraries at HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn, Scottsdale Shea and John C. Lincoln medical centers.

Donation needs include:

  • Ethnic products
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Cotton swabs (Q-tips)
  • Sanitary items
  • Toilet paper/paper towels
  • Women’s underwear
  • Women’s deodorant
  • Gift cards for:
    • Grocery stores, Walmart, Target and gas stations at a $10 to $25 value

Members of the WPLC will visit Faith House on Saturday, Jan. 13 to deliver the donated items. Thank you for your support and for providing the resources needed to help survivors attain long-term safety, stability and independence. Please reach out to Shalini Singh-Karnik, MD, with any questions.

Save the date for these upcoming WPLC events:

  • Join us on Saturday, Feb. 3 to celebrate National Women Physicians Day. This will be a family affair, with more details to come.
  • Saturday, March 2 is the HonorHealth Foundation’s 47th Annual Honor Ball. This year’s event takes place at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn in Scottsdale.
