New leadership named for General Surgery Institute

We’re excited to share that 12 campus-based and network medical directors have been selected as part of the launch of the new General Surgery Institute at HonorHealth. The Institute brings general surgeons from across the network together to focus on key priorities, including quality improvement and patient safety, financial stewardship, surgical growth and enhancing the patient experience.
After interviewing with campus and network leadership teams, the following physicians were chosen for these roles:
- Gabriel Mekel Nakhal, MD, general surgery medical director, HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center
- Mohan Ramalingam, MD, general surgery medical director, HonorHealth Tempe Medical Center
- Maged Elkhouly, MD, general surgery medical director, HonorHealth Four Peaks Medical Center
- Kevin Masur, MD, general surgery medical director, HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center
- Albert Amini, MD, general surgery medical director, HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center
- Erin Kloos, MD, general surgery medical director, HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center
- Varun Chakravorty, MD, general surgery medical director, HonorHealth Sonoran Crossing Medical Center
- Alyssa Stassi, DO, general surgery medical director, HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center
- Ben Hanshaw, DO, director, robotic general surgery
- Aryan Modasi, MD, director, hepatobiliary surgery
- Andrew Kassir, MD, director, colorectal surgery
