Are you interested in sharing your passion and love for your career with our next generation of healthcare heroes? Volunteer to speak to high school students in our Medical Explorers Club or Nursing Explorers Club! The clubs meet once a month on a weeknight from 5-7 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. at HonorHealth John C. Lincoln, Scottsdale Thompson Peak, Deer Valley medical centers, and at the Center of Clinical Excellence. Speakers lead 45-minute to 60-minute sessions. In the sessions, speakers are asked to:

  • Share about themselves and why they chose their career.
  • Talk about what a day-in-the-life looks like in their role.
  • Lead a hands-on, interactive activity. Example of past activities include: leading a pig heart dissection, wrapping casts, teaching how to take blood pressure, giving a tour of a department and more! Volunteer Services can provide supplies for the activities.

If you are interested in leading a session for our high school students in the Explorers Club, please email Melissa Mahon, volunteer specialist, at [email protected]. Learn more about these clubs.
