Endoscopy critical-care nursing unit wins prestigious Beacon Award for Excellence

Congratulations to the Endoscopy critical-care nursing team at Scottsdale Shea Medical Center for receiving the American Association of Critical-Care Nursing (AACN) Beacon Award for Excellence, Level Silver in December. The Beacon Award for Excellence lauds North American hospital units that employ evidence-based practices to improve patient and family outcomes.

The award honors individual nursing units that distinguish themselves by improving every facet of patient care. Beacon-designated units meet or exceed quality standards based on proven indicators of excellence that closely align with the Baldrige National Quality Award, Magnet Recognition Program, National Quality Forum Safe Practices for Better Healthcare and AACN Standards for Establishing and Sustaining Healthy Work Environments.

They are the fourth nursing unit in Arizona to be recognized with this award, and the first inpatient endoscopy unit in the country to receive this honor. We applaud their dedication to improve the health and well-being of those we serve.
