Strengthening safety with body-worn cameras
HonorHealth is expanding the use of body-worn cameras for all security personnel to enhance safety for team members, patients, and visitors. Building on the successful use by armed officers since July 2025, these cameras are designed to support our teams, clarify incidents and strengthen workplace safety — not to monitor day-to-day work.
Why this matters
- Safety: Helps deter aggressive behavior and supports staff during volatile situations
- Accountability: Provides clear documentation of incidents involving patients, visitors or team members
- Training: Offers real-world examples to improve protocols and response strategies
Cameras are activated only during incidents, disturbances or potential threats, and strict privacy and HIPAA safeguards are in place. They are never used during routine patient care or in high-privacy areas unless necessary due to a significant event.
We appreciate your partnership as we continue to create a safer, more reliable environment across all HonorHealth campuses.
