As the only dedicated program of its kind in the East Valley, the unit provides comprehensive psychiatric treatment designed specifically for older adults.

With more than 30 years of behavioral health experience, our team understands the complex needs of this population.

The remodeled 20-bed unit features private rooms with mountain views and an integrated approach that combines psychiatric and medical expertise. The typical length of stay is 10 to 14 days, with a focus on achieving stability and ensuring a safe, supported transition home or to the next level of care.

Comprehensive, interdisciplinary treatment

Our multidisciplinary team includes geriatric psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, licensed counselors, activity therapists, social workers and specialized nurses.

Care plans may include:

• Daily medical and psychiatric evaluation and management
• Individual and group therapy sessions
• Art and music therapy
• Coping skills development and leisure activities
• Family communication and structured visitation
• Collaborative discharge planning with families and facilities

When to refer

Considering referring patients who:

• Are 55 or older and need inpatient psychiatric care
• Can participate in therapeutic programming
• Have a clinical expectation of improvement
• Have obtained medical clearance

Our intake team partners closely with referring physicians and APPs to coordinate admissions and maintain clear communication throughout the patient’s stay.
