In a remarkable demonstration of clinical excellence and teamwork, HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center has successfully passed the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and State Trauma Survey with zero nonconformities. This outstanding achievement underscores the facility’s commitment to providing top-tier trauma care. 
 

Key contributors to success 

The success of this survey can be attributed to the collective efforts of numerous individuals and departments: 

  • Leadership: Kaveh Najafi, MD, and Wendy Otten, RN, BSN, CEN, were instrumental in positioning the facility for success. 
  • Trauma providers: Stacie Patterson and her team of APPs expertly presented data and fielded surveyor questions. 
  • Trauma administration: Highlighted as a key strength, with notable contributions from Krystal Slason, Bill Morrissey, Ryan Baker Asistin and the entire team of registrars.  
  • Nursing education: Mary Poquette, Jill Rable and Shelly Van Vianen impressed surveyors with the depth of trauma education across the nursing teams. 
  • HonorHealth Research Institute: Demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing trauma care through research.  
  • Physician liaisons: Provided valuable insights on their respective fields’ contributions to the trauma program.
