HonorHealth is committed to sustainability

To minimize our environmental impact, starting on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, HonorHealth patients and guarantors with a MyChart account who have not selected a billing preference in MyChart will be defaulted to paperless billing and will stop receiving paper billing statements in the mail.

What this means for patients

  • MyChart patients will have the option to keep the new default setting of paperless statements, or they can update their billing preferences to continue receiving paper billing statements.
  • Patients with MyChart accounts are being notified of this change through email and mailings. They will receive detailed steps on how to go green and choose paperless billing, or how they can opt-out to continue receiving paper billing statements.
  • Starting on Wednesday, April 10, patients will receive billing statements electronically through MyChart with a notification sent to their email that a new statement is ready to review.
    • Currently, three statements are sent to patients as part of the billing cycle. This change will only impact the first two statements. If patients don’t respond to those statements delivered electronically, they will receive the final statements via mail.

This change has many benefits including:

  • Additional self-service and payment options in MyChart
  • Accelerated payments
  • Reduction of paper consumption
  • Decrease in postage and statement costs
  • Secure access to statements
