GME Update
Additional family medicine residency slots granted
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the distribution of the first 200 slots that were created as part of the Consolidation Appropriations Act, 2021 (CAA). HonorHealth’s Family Medicine Residency Program was granted an additional two slots that will be effective July 1, 2023. In a statement, CMS noted that 100 teaching hospitals in 30 states, received awards in this years’ distribution.

- 52% had used Library Services for routine patient care
- 36% had used Library Services for staff education
- 18% had used Library Services for patient education
- 20% had used Library Services for urgent or rush patient care
- 15% said utilizing the information provided avoided adverse event/critical incident
Continuing Medical Education
HonorHealth Continuing Medical Education is committed to offering quality education to physicians and healthcare professionals. To achieve this goal, HonorHealth’s CME department collaborates with our service lines to provide programs designed to keep learners abreast of the latest developments in medicine, and engage learners in interactive sessions that contribute to improved research and practice in the science, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness and disease.

Research, quality improvement and patient safety
HonorHealth is committed to advancing research, quality improvement (QI) and patient safety (PS) as an important aspect of resident education and faculty/preceptor development. The ResQIPS Program is aimed at supporting scholarship for the HonorHealth residents and faculty.

The Reed Family Visiting Scholar Program
The Reed Family Visiting Scholar Program was first developed to provide the Internal Medicine faculty and residents with exposure to notable scholars in medicine. Since its inception, it has expanded to all HonorHealth GME programs.
