We are delighted and inspired when our HonorHealth colleagues invest in supporting the programs that drive advanced patient care. And we are honored by their commitment to community health in both their professional and personal lives. We recently chatted with new donor Rahul Doshi, MD, who serves as chief of complex arrhythmia management at the HonorHealth Cardiovascular Center of Excellence, as well as chief of the cardiac arrhythmia group and professor of medicine at the University of Arizona.

Q: How long have you worked at HonorHealth?
A: Almost three years!

Q: Please describe your specialty for us.
A: Clinical cardiac electrophysiology deals with arrhythmias, or electrical disturbances of the heart. My team and I specialize in arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation as well as devices like pacemakers and defibrillators.

Q: How do you approach patient care—your guiding philosophy?
A: Patient care above all, but my goal is to provide the most “state-of-the art” techniques and technologies to advance patient care.

Q: As a physician and a team member of HonorHealth—why did you choose to also become a donor?
A: Being part of HonorHealth, I see the need for philanthropy and the results of philanthropy to advance patient care. Choosing to become a donor, to me, completes my commitment to our collective mission.

Q: Why did you choose the Cardiovascular Center of Excellence as the beneficiary of your investment?
A: Heart disease takes the life of one in four adults. Being part of the Cardiovascular Center of Excellence, I see the needs every day, and I know that any investment will be well utilized.

Q: What do you want our readers to understand about patient needs in cardiovascular care and how philanthropy impacts that?
A: Cardiovascular care continues to advance at an astounding pace, driven by science and technology. Philanthropy allows for continued advancement and directly translates to better patient care.

Q: Anything else you’d like to share with your fellow Foundation donors?
A: HonorHealth is strongly committed to the Cardiovascular Center of Excellence, and our goal is to provide the very best, comprehensive care for our patients. With all of our help, we hope to build a true center of excellence and make it a shining beacon for our community—something of which we can all be proud!
